Boots Goodies!!

     Hey guys! So I had been waiting to see what I got for Christmas before I went ahead and purchased these items. That means that these are quite essential to my beauty routine! I'd been out of body scrub for a few weeks and in desperate need of a new tub. This A-MAAAAZ-ing Soap & Glorgy 'The Sugar Crush' scrub retails at £8 for 300ml. It's mainly a sugar scrub with lime, almond oil and macadamia grains. I used to think so highly of Origins' Ginger scrub - until I used this.

If you love Italian food as much as I do then you'll appreciate this. I made chicken fettucini Alfredo for dinner today and it was scrumptious!

Christmas Topshop Goodies!

     

      I was quite lucky this year as I got a few things from Topshop! Starting with the lovely soft wool cardigan, it was a gift and it's super comfy as I can dress it up or down!

2011 Beauty Essentials

     Here's my 2011 beauty products roundup. These items made my year in beauty without a shadow of a doubt. Let's start with Neutrogena's Deep Clean cream cleanser. This has been my go to cleanser for the past eight years. I kid you not. Through teenage skin and now my twenties, it has seen me through. This is only available in the States nowadays so I always tell one of my mates who's going there to pick me up a couple of 'em. They retail at around $3 and last for ages as well.

Boxing Day Purple Eye Makeup

     Here's my eye look from last night! I knew I wanted to do a bright purple look since my dress was quite a dull brown colour and am very happy with what I ended up doing! Btw all Urban Decay shadows are from the NYC palette that came out a couple of years ago I believe.

Film Review: Rise of the Planet of the Apes

     Today I watched Rise of the Planet of the Apes which came out earlier this year. I tend to stay away from violent or aggressive looking films because I'm more of a glass half full kinda girl (or maybe I haven't got the back bone for serious stuff)!
     In any case, this movie was AMAzing. It blew my mind away and I wish I'd gone to see it in the cinema. While there were scenes with violence, cruelty and anger, the overall story is very touching and you will find yourself rooting for the main character 'Caesar' the whole way through. It's also really relatable because it deals with loneliness, desperation and triumphing over adversity. I give this movie a 5/5 hands down.

 Christmas goodies!!! To be fair, I did ask for these as my beauty-clueless other half wouldn't have a clue where to start! I've been dying to splurge on Yankee candles and these are sensational!

     Just did my nails in preparation for the Xmas festivities commencing tomorrow and thought I'd share it with you guys since I love this colour oh so much! It's Diva of Geneva by OPI.

Products I Won't Repurchase

     People tend to call these posts 'products I regret buying', but I feel like 'regret' is such a harsh word. So I prefer to simply say that I most certainly will not be repurchasing these products (and here's why)! 

     Firstly, the John Friedas. These are the Straight Fixation light weight creme and the Daily Miracle Treatment detangler and heat protectant. The straightening balm is either non-effective when I use too little or effective but greasy, goopy and thick when I use more.

What's better than Nutella..?

Choceur hazelnut wafers that's what!! They are my latest favourite treat and can be found at any local German market/supermarket. These wafers are HIGHLY addictive, you have been warned!!

Nail Of The Day

     Staying festive with Essie, I have on Lolipop which is a gorgeous orangey candy red! It suits all skin tones and is such a bright happy colour to cheer up the start of the week =) This shade is a staple in my nail polish collection.

I heart Kendra

     If you recognise the girl in these pictures you will know who I'm talking about: Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett. Former girlfriend of Hugh Hefner, star of reality shows Girls Next Door and Kendra, and sports lover.

November/December Books !!

     I was one of those nerdy kids that read her way through her childhood and adolescence. Sweet Valley High, Babysitters Club, Full House diaries and Nancy Drews!I'm not the fastest reader out there and I sometimes get frustrated when I don't finish books in a week or two, but hey that's life! Do any of you use Goodreads.com? I love it!! It's a virtual bookcase where you add all the books you've read, are currently reading, and want to read. You can also go on other people's profiles and browse, comment, etc!

     The books are in order from left to right (earliest read to latest read), with the book I'm currently reading at the bottom. I adore Vonnegut because of Slaughterhouse Five and Sirens of Titan.

Secret Santa !!

So this year I decided to opt for a lovely and deliciously-smelling Origins ginger body set! I picked this up for myself last year and when I found out who my secret Santa was (and with our £20 budget) I knew this was the product(s) to go for!!

Top MAC lipsticks

Top right: Lovelorn (lustre) this is the perfect baby pink shade for me! I hear it's being discontinued (eek!!!) so snatch one up fast!
Top left: Patisserie (lustre) this is a great nude shade that suits everybody! I was obsessed with it last winter and it's still a staple.

Boots mini haul!!

So I stopped by Boots and picked up a few things. First off is a repurchase, it's the Neutrogena SPF 25 hand cream which I use on a daily basis.

Review: Nars, Weleda, MoroccanOil

I purchased these items a month ago when ASOS had their Nars sale. I got the other two from feelunique.com (amazing site).
I've been after these Nars products since they came out in the spring 2011 collection and couldn't say no when they were on sale! Nars duo in Dogon is a gorgeous matte navy shade along with an iridescent pale blue/pearly green colour which perfectly complement each other.

What I Use On My Hair

I'm obsessed with taking care of my hair and here are the products I'm currently loving (bottom to top):
Burt's Bees Super Shiny grapefruit & sugar beet shampoo - I only use sulfate free shampoo since its gentle on the hair and doesn't strip off colour and this one gets the job done! I still prefer the Rockaholic TIGI shampoo and I'm not sure if I will repurchase this as its around £12.
Dove Intensive Repair conditioner - this is a great conditioner under £3!! I bought it after Vivianna from viviannadoesmakeup on YouTube raved about Dove conditioners. I love it and will definitely repurchase it over and over.

Paris mini-haul!!

So I just came back from a 2 day trip to Paris and picked up two essentials and a new product!

The Bioderma crealine H2O non-rinse cleanser is the best makeup remover out there. It's super gentle especially around the eyes and easy to use with just a cotton pad. As you can see, I stocked up on the two for €19.75 as you unfortunately cannot find them easily in the UK.
