Avene Brand Overview: Rich Cream, Eye Cream, Serum and Facial Spray

I started using Avene products last year, beginning with the Eau Thermale Spring Water spray. Earlier this year, Boots had a 3 for 2 offer on premium skincare and I had been on the hunt for some new skin goodies, so I went for it! I bought the Rich Compensating Cream, the Soothing Eye Contour Cream, and the Soothing Hydrating Serum. Overall I would say that I am quite impressed with the brand, especially at their price point. The French are known for being masters of skincare and Avene specialise in catering to sensitive skin, which means their products are almost always gentle. All of these products are, of course, paraben-free.

Eau Thermale Rich Compensating Cream

£16.50

Pros: thick, very moisturising, gorgeous subtle French skincare scent, skin feels amazingly smooth, supple and hydrated afterwards, considerably affordable.

Cons: A tad bit greasy. Tad bit.

I have a feeling that I will always make sure to keep a tub of this in my drawer. I am absolutely in love with Avene's Rich Compensating cream as it pretty much gives me all I wanted from a rich cream, except for the teeny tiny little greasiness it leaves. It honestly is such a gorgeous, luxurious and lovely product to use.

I definitely feel a bit vintage-glamour-y when I reach for it thanks to the foil seal and thick glass jar! A little goes a long long way with this product and I learned that the hard way! Now I just tell myself to scrape out an amount that seems far too little, and it always ends up being just enough. Gorgeous, gorgeous cream. Have I said gorgeous yet?

Eau Thermale Soothing Eye Contour Cream

£9.50

I wrote about this eye cream in my Eye Cream Review blogpost last month LINK!. Here's how I rated it:

ProsLight in texture (perfect for daytime), affordable, non irritating.

Cons: none.

The only thing I would change is that I would add "nicely moisturising" to the Pros section as it definitely hydrates the skin just enough. I use this cream both day and night now as well. I will probably repurchase this when it runs out.

Eau Thermale Soothing Hydrating Serum

£17.00

Pros: light, hydrating, non-irritating.

Cons: uncomfortably sticky and greasy.

This is my least favourite Avene product that I've tried. I attempted using it as a primer but it didn't do much for the longevity of my makeup. I now prefer to use it before bed because it gives me such soft, supple glowing skin when I wake up! I doubt I would ever repurchase this product to be honest. It really doesn't stand out at all in my opinion, especially for £17.

Eau Thermale Spring Water Facial Spray

£6.50

I wrote quite a lengthy review about this spray back in July in my Facial Beauty Water Review LINK!. I cannot stress how perfect this product is for when you've applied a tad too much makeup on and need to make it look natural again. One spritz will sort you out - honestly. This is definitely one of my staples. It's refreshing, soothing, hydrating, and gives an instant glow!
