NOTD - Model's Own Lemon Meringue in Bournemouth!

I had been after Revlon’s Buttercup nailpolish for a couple of months now, ever since I saw Amarixe’s NOTD post featuring it. While Boots stock the range online, I didn’t want to purchase it without seeing it in the flesh first. Last week when I was noseying around the Model’s Own stand looking for the shade Utopia, I came across this little gem, Lemon Meringue.

This is such a gorgeous creamy pastel yellow that is bright yet subtle and elegant. It’s such a joyful colour that will go with many looks, especially transitioning from summer to fall. Personally, I’m not ready to dump my bright colours and don blacks/greys from head to toe just yet, I still need some bright and cheerful tones in the mix! I absolutely loved how this shade contrasted against my maroon oversized cardigan and zebra pring leggings.

While I applied Lemon Meringue hastily on the coach down to Bournemouth, it wore surprisingly well. It lasted 2-3 days virtually chip-free but today only the ring fingers and pinkies are good as new. For £5.00, I wasn’t expecting the world.

I have a feeling this will be a staple in my nailpolish collection as it would subtley brighten up any month of the year. I will definitely be trying out more Model’s Own nailpolishes in future and I highly recommend this, especially if you’re looking for an affordable transitional nailcolour.

I have included some piccies of Bournemouth as I could not believe how gorgeous it looked in late September! I had to strip down to my cotton tank top during lunch as it was sweltering.Yep, SWELTERING!
