Spring 2013 Empties

Are you ready for my Spring '13 empties?

Bioderma Crealine H20

Staple makeup remover since summer of 2011. I buy a 2-pack whenever I'm in France.

Weleda Almond Soothing Facial Oil

I was so sad to see this go and will definitely have to repurchase it soon. I used this whenever my skin was inflamed and on my brow bone after tweezing. SUCH a miracle product!!!

Balance Me Balancing Face Moisturiser

This is a gorgeous facial moisturiser that is packed full of skin goodness! I have always respected the purity of Balance Me's products and have already repurchased this! It smells very herbal-y and sinks into the skin within 10 minutes.

Simple Soothing Eye Balm

I HATED this product! It felt so sticky on my under=eye area and I honestly used it no more than 4 times. I just chucked it into my Boots basket as something to try a year ago and am so glad I'm finally throwing it away.

Shu Uemura Skin Purifier

I used to use the Shu Uemura facial oils religiously as my makeup remover back in 2008/2009. I stopped because they were quite pricey and I hated the brief blurred vision after I used them. Also, MAC's Cleanse Off Oil is a much cheaper alternative.

Wilkinson Sword Aloe Beauty Razors

These worked really well. No complaint here. Plus they were hot pink! What's not to love?

Nivea Pearl & Beauty 48h Spray Deodorant

Perfect handbag deodorant for a night out! This smells so pretty and girly and does a good job of keeping the inevitable sweaty stench at bay while you're on the dance floor!

Anatomicals Don't Just Clean It Woman, Scrub It Body Scrub in Grapefruit

This came in a Glossybox a few months back and I really like it! It smells nice and does a very good job at scrubbing away those pesky dead skin cells. It doesn't leave my skin feeling too dry either, the scrub has a jelly-type feel so it soothes at the same time. Great product!

Rituals Yogi Flow Foaming Shower Gel

I repurchased a backup before this baby even ran out! This full size was in a Glossybox a year ago and I fell in LOVE! It's the perfect shaving foam, seriously! I honestly cannot be without this lovely, gorgeous-smelling foaming shower gel!

First Aid Beauty Gentle Body Wash

This sample was in a Glossybox as well. I didn't really like it, it was very 'blah' to me. Not much to say - not memorable.

Dr Bronner's Magic Soap in Hemp Rose

This lovely baby came in the Natural Glossybox last April where they sent us products from companies who put out only natural/organic products (I was over the moon). Because this is a very natural product free from sulfates, it didn't lather much in the shower. I didn't mind this at all though. All I had to do was just use more of it to clean my skin, and it did a beautiful job. I cannot wait to try more from this line!

Pantene Protect & Smooth Conditioner for Coloured Hair

Ugh this was SUCH a fail. Don't buy it! I picked it up at Boots because I had run out of conditioner and I remembered reading some top hairstylist's positive comments on the new Pantene formulation. LIES! Haha, I haven't tried anything else from their new line but safe to say, I will not! You would have to actually pay me to use any more Pantene products in the near future, that is how much I disliked this conditioner! There's still a bit left in it but I refuse to use it any longer.

Sure, my hair was soft in the shower, but as soon as I blew it dry it was so stringy and brittle that I can only guess this tube is PACKED with silicones. Tut tut Pantene, that is not how you do it!

L'Oreal EverPure Shampoo Colour Care & Smoothing

I absolutely love this shampoo and will probably be repurchasing it in the near future. It has a lovely hot-guy scent ^^ Very fresh and masculine! It lathered beautifully even though it was sulphate-free (the basis of it's appeal). Gorgeous shampoo, I highly recommend it!

L'Oreal Mega Volume Collagene 24h Mascara

You can read my review of this mascara HERE

Yay or Nay? Definitely nay, left my lashes plastic-y and crumbly.

Benefit Creaseless Cream Eyeshow/Liner in Honey Bunny

You can read my review of this beloved staple HERE. I am definitely missing this already and in need of a new matte beige eyeshadow base! *sob* *sniffle*

MaxFactor False Lash Effect Mascara

You can read my review of this mascara HERE!

An old fav - didn't impress this time though.

Benefit One Hot Minute Powder

I really enjoyed using this powder for the most part. The past couple of months though, I couldn't wait to finish it up! There's still a tiny bit left in there but I just couldn't afford the amount of time this product needed every morning! It's in a loose powder form so you have to *shake shake shake* the product, open it up to see if enough came out (it probably didn't) and shake it some more. It was way too time consuming. I really wish they'd make a pressed powder form of this as I really did like it. It gives a glimmery bronzy glow to the skin and Benefit describes it as "Sexy In Seconds Face Powder".

Bourjois 1 Seconde Nail Polish Remover

This is still going strong even though it's a year old, but I had to throw it away because the spongy black bits inside got way too gross for me. I'd take my finger out and they'd be everywhere! Plus at this point there's a whole mixture of dissolved nail polish in there so the formula felt kind of gross as well. Great for travelling, but don't keep it for a year like I did!

Bourjois Healthymix Serum Foundation in 53

I was really excited to get this last May as the normal Healthymix foundation worked really well for my oily/combination skin. While the texture is lighter and easier to blend, the coverage did not meet expectations. I have hyperpigmentation from acne scars and this serum foundation did a very minimal job of covering them up. I'm not really sure what the purpose of it is as it's got no SPF so it's not even a tinted moisturiser really! There's still a few more uses in there but I hadn't used it in months so I might as well get rid of it.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation Sample in 2.0 and 3.5

I was really excited to receive this with my Debenhams order quite a few months ago as I heard/read rave reviews. I tried both shades out and 3.5 was still a tad too pale for my NC35 complexion. It just left a grey cast after it dried so that means it oxidized. My advice is definitely go darker than you normally would and double check it won't dry grey before you buy it! It didn't do much for me coverage-wise either. This was a definite miss.

Dr. Jart + BB Cream SPF 40

Last but not least is my sample of the Dr. Jart + BB Cream SPF 40 which I LOVED! It sat well on my skin and did some concealing and evening out of the skin all with an SPF 40 to boot! I went out and bought a brand new one! That new bottle sadly sits unopened in my drawer as only after I bought it did I read the ingredients and yep, it's got parabens :< If any of you ladies wish to buy this off me feel free! I think it retails for £24 but I'm more than happy to sell it for £19 + PnP!

Xx

  1. This is a seriously impressive empties post! It definitely motivates me to keep using up products - I've been really limiting my purchases lately but I still have such an abundance of products.
